Himachal Pradesh News: Himachal Pradesh Rains, Uttarakhand Rains Weather - 72 People Dead

 Himachal Pradesh Flood: This monsoon season has proven to be one of the most perilous for Himachal Pradesh. Over the past 72 hours, more than 1000 people have been rescued from flood-affected areas in Himachal Pradesh. According to the news agency ANI, at least 72 people have lost their lives in incidents caused by heavy rainfall over the last three days, making the state the hardest hit by this year's monsoon rains. Data from the state disaster management reveals that 1,762 homes have been completely destroyed and 8,952 homes have experienced partial damage due to the persistent downpours. Additionally, 113 landslides have been reported during this rainy season.

Shimla News - Shimla Temple Collapse:


During this flood, the total death toll in Shimla has risen to 21 people. Approximately six buildings in Shimla are at risk of landslides, and 1,731 individuals have been rescued from the flooding that followed the discharge of water from the Pong Dam in Kangra district. Many houses in various regions of Shimla are also in danger of collapsing due to landslides. More than 500 trees have been uprooted in Shimla as a result of the heavy rainfall.


Statement from Punjab CM:


Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann states, "There has been no rain here. The water is flowing in from Himachal. Our officials are in contact with the Himachal Pradesh Government and BBMB. Water has entered low-lying areas. There is no immediate danger... We will provide compensation to those who have suffered losses..."


Uttarakhand News - Uttarakhand Flood:


Following a surge, the water levels in the Ganga River in Rishikesh have receded, and a similar drop in water levels has been observed in the Yamuna River in Delhi. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts substantial rainfall in Uttarakhand. The Dehradun Meteorological Department has forecasted light to moderate rain with thunderstorms for most areas in the Uttarakhand districts of Nainital, Champawat, and Udham Singh Nagar on August 16. Furthermore, isolated regions in the Uttarakhand districts of Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, and Udham Singh Nagar are likely to experience significant rainfall. Thunderstorms with lightning and intense to extremely intense spells are expected in remote areas of Uttarakhand's districts.


Uttarakhand Death Toll Rises to 64, with 2 More Deaths:


On Tuesday night, the Joshimath police reported that a house adjacent to the Helang crusher factory had been demolished, and individuals were possibly buried beneath it. Local police, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and a rescue team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) arrived at the scene. Data from the State Emergency Operation Center reveals that there have been 64 fatalities from rain-related incidents since June 15. Furthermore, 24 individuals remain missing, and 41 people have sustained injuries. Over 41 homes have been completely destroyed, 130 have suffered extensive damage, and 1207 have sustained partial damage.
