Pakistan Petrol and Diesel Prices: First Time Crossing Rs 300 in Pakistan's History

Today's Petrol Price in Pakistan:

As we all know, after the Imran Khan party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf came out of power and the Shehbaz Sharif party Pakistan Muslim League came into power, Pakistani inflation has been increasing day by day. But now, for the first time in Pakistani history, the price of petrol and diesel has crossed Rs 300. This is having a significant impact on Pakistan's citizens, who are already struggling to make ends meet.

The Central Bank of Pakistan is forced to increase interest rates as a result of the rupee's ongoing depreciation. In comparison to Tuesday's finish of 304.4, the country's currency is now trading at a record low of 305.6 per US dollar.

On Thursday, the caretaker administration, under Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar, raised the cost of gasoline and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs 14.91 and Rs 18.44 per liter, respectively.

Across the country, Pakistanis have been protesting against electricity bills in multiple locations, including Multan, Lahore, and Karachi. Protesters and people have been burning their bills.

This price increase comes just two weeks after fuel and HSD prices were raised by PKR 17.50 and PKR 20 per liter, respectively. Within just 15 days, the cumulative increase amounts to PKR 31.41 and PKR 38.44 per liter.

Petrol Prices in Pakistan as of September 1, 2023:

  •  Old Price (PKR): 290.45, and it has now increased to a new price of (PKR) 305.36.

  • High-Speed Diesel (HSD) old price (PKR): was 293.40, and it has significantly increased to a new price of (PKR) 311.84.

conclusion:

We should also think about and observe why this inflation has increased and what its impact is. We should also prepare for our future in case this situation comes to our country. In India, we have seen inflation also increase, but we have managed it better.
